Adolph M. Foerster’s A Legend, Op. 86, is a symphonic poem in two parts: “A Legend” and “Nuptial Feast.” Manuscripts of the full score and parts are found in the Adolph M. Foerster Collection. One of the full score manuscripts, dated July 20, 1914, mislabels the work Op. 85. It also indicates that the piece was performed at Willow Grove Park in Philadelphia on August 13, 1920, conducted by Wassili Leps.

Adolph M. Foerster’s Album of Lyrics, op. 53, is a set of songs for medium voice and piano. The nine songs of the set are “Und was die Sonne glüht,” “The Water-lily,” “Träumerei,” “Es tönt in meinen Ohren,” “Love Seemeth Terrible,” “Sleeping Love,” “Sterne überall,” “Vorschlag,” “Nights of Music,” and “Farewell.” The Adolph M. Foerster Collection includes a manuscript for the seventh song in Foerster’s hand dated June 4, 1899. Additional songs from the set are found Foerster’s bound volume of music. 

American Ode, op. 81

Adolph M. Foerster’s orchestral composition American Ode, op. 81, was published in 1922. The manuscript full score in the composer’s hand indicates that the work premiered at the Pittsburg Exposition on September 23, 1913, by the Russian Symphony Orchestra under conductor Modeste Altschuler.
